The owners! Beautiful couple and informative of the area. The staff are so friendly and helpful too. If ever in Ayutthaya in the future, this is our go to place for sure! ❤️ We planned a 3 night stay and extended to 4 as we just loved the relaxed vibe here. And after almost a month on the go travelling up Thailand, this was perfect for us - especially after Bangkok. Designed with a playful, quirky layout made such an artistic and creative way to build a house - almost like a huge tree house but for grown ups. A great shared space area too which feels calm and relaxing. We stayed in a twin room and loved the treehouse feel to it all. I could actually live in this house! (Just to note, if you’re a bit of a party person, this is not the place for you. It’s a quiet retreat with a no noise after 10 which we loved!) Great position for all the best sights and all the information you could need on the area. And onward travels too. Even a board with places to eat from other guest. We chose to eat at the night market at a little seafood stall near the far end of market. A chap with a red hat on cooks the most amazing red snapper served over hot coals, muscles, clams and such. Ate here twice. Hope you find him! He has 3/4 hot pans/pots on the go. It’s busy with locals so wait in line for a seat if none.

1. Exceptional hosts The hosts of Tamarind were truly fantastic. Extremely friendly, great hospitality and you can really sense how much they care for the well-being of their guests. They gave us so much assistance in how to move around Ayutthaya and beyond (there were bus and train schedules nicely displayed on the wall), what places should be at the top of our list, (recommended the boat tour which was very nice!) and food recommendations (also prominently displayed!). They were there to provide "first aid" in the form of congee for my travelling companion who had a bout of indigestion and some OTC medicines too. Even though our lodging did not include food, we were still provided with good coffee, toast and cakes! Koy is a wonderful baker - if you are lucky, you may get to try her banana and coconut cake! Yumz! 2. Great location Just across the road from Wat Mahathat so we were the first persons into this site and were able to spend time there before the crowds came in. Also just a very short walk to the night market which is ultra-convenient. 3. Clean rooms with good functioning air-conditioning - lovely to come back to after time out in the hot weather in Ayutthaya.

I love Tamarind Guesthouse ♡ Everything is wonderful, perfect location. The girls who work here are so nice! It is the best location, too! I was able to visit Wat Mahatat in the mornings and in the sunset for great photos. I walked in Tranquil Park early each morning. I felt surrounded with the history of Ayutthaya. Breakfast was good most mornings but less was offered one day, not sure if it was due to different staff that time. The place has perfect charm, great AC, comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. I was so happy here! I enjoyed eating at Youta Vegan restaurant about 15 minutes away and Old City Coffee, just two minutes walk. This was a real highlight of my trip to Thailand, I would definitely stay again. Thank you!

This is lovely little hotel in a perfect location for exploring the ruins of Ayutthaya, with two of the main sites being located just across the road. The staff are very friendly and helpful and willing to help with any problems and to give advice restaurants and which parts of the ruins to visit. Breakfast is basic, just toast, fruit, boiled eggs and cake, but is perfectly adequate. We had the family room which was spacious and had one double bed and one single bed, both of which were very comfortable. The two restaurant suggestions we were given were excellent, one of which is included on the map they give you. The hotel is also very close to the night market which is fun to explore.

We absolutely loved staying here. The staff were amazing, the location perfect for sightseeing, the bike hire was very cheap, there was free hot and cold water, the included breakfast was incredible! Our three children had the loft and it was just lovely. Very quirky and quaint. The standard double room we had was very nice. The aircon worked well in both rooms. Fridges in both rooms. Food was easily accessible in any direction from the guesthouse. It was very close to the night market for dinner.
